Erik & Scottie Larson.
Erik Larson started his career by attending college for nursing, beginning in the medical field in 1997, helping elderly and infirm patients in nursing homes, assisted living, and hospice care with daily life. He assisted many patients in their last stages of life, and stood by as a support to the bereaved after all that could be done was done. After 7 years, and to complement his studies in college, he began working in the funeral service industry in 2004.
Working for several years with Pierce Brothers Westwood Memorial Park and Mortuary, Erik completed his embalming apprenticeship with Pierce Brothers and further expanded his knowledge by working for the City of Santa Monica Woodlawn Cemetery, Mortuary and Mausoleum. With 12 years of experience, from the largest events to the most humble gatherings, Erik has centered his life around meeting the needs of families during their time of grief.
He majors in individualized compassion for the bereaved: of all faiths, practices, and backgrounds. His unique vision was to have more of a private funeral directors office, equivalent to a family physician, instead of the big box mortuaries, which were run more like a hospital. His inspiration came from families he found yearning for a more custom tailored, personal, private, or more confidential type of mortuary service.
"The history of funeral service in America started with furniture business owners who had tools for making caskets on demand, strong backs, and big hearts. They would come to the residence with the needed equipment and compassion to help out families in a time of grief. "Our vision is to continue the legacy of what made the funeral business great in the first place: friendly neighbors helping out during a time of deep need, one person to another." -Erik Larson, Founder.
